For a used book it is in beautiful condition! I am very pleased with it. Also it arrived way earlier than expected, which was a great surprise. I couldn't wait to get it because it was a book my professor recommended to me to add to my collection. For what little I have gotten to read of it so far, he was absolutely right! As someone who has fallen in love with the Vaganova method, I am excited to go through this book in its entirety, and have already read some very insightful and intriguing things. i look forward to furthering my knowledge with this book. This book is very instructional provideing proper head and eye movements with the hand and the proper progession of a movement and the details of what to do and what not to do when executing the technique. The book also provides musical information on how to progress with a movement. A wealth of information and a must for any teacher who is teaching Russian Style ballet.

This book provides detailed description of classic ballet technique. It's a good companion to Vera Kostrovitskaya's "100 lessons in classical ballet". Unfortunately it has very few illustrations.

Purchasing this book was a great experience for me. My son was diagnosed this year with epilepsy, and he gets complex partial seizures. Most epilepsy books address grand mals along with the others, but I really did not want my son to worry about grand mals at this point. I didn't want to scare him with that possibility, especially since he also has Aspergers and tends to fixate on negative things. My son also says his head "feels funny" so this seemed like a book he could resonate with.I read the review about the monster, and was concerned, so I got online and found the author and emailed her questions. She immediately communicated back and sent me a photo of the pages to show me the monster and what it was like. She was very kind and helpful, and also told me that all the profits for the book is donated to epilepsy research and causes.I still wasn't sure about the monster, but then I just ordered the book, and when I am reading it to my son, I replace the word "scary" in the book with "silly"...so my son hears it as being a "silly monster" (which is what the picture looks like anyway, it looks like a Sesame Street monster). He did not show any anxiety about the monster at all, so that's great.He did not show a desire to have the book read to him again, but I think the epilepsy sort of confuses him, and sometimes he tends to avoid things he does not understand. But I'm glad we have it, because I think he will want to hear it again in the future. This book almost mirrors my son's experiences with seizures, and I'm so glad to have purchased it.I highly recommend buying this book, if for no other reason than the author is helpful and receptive and donates the proceeds. But even beyond that, if your child has complex partial seizures, this is the best book for that type of epilepsy.

I could not wait to read this book with my 4 year old daughter who was diagnosed with epilepsy last week, but was disappointed to find this book does feature a red monster and the girl in the story, Nel, describes a monster standing behind her, when she feels "funny". This was a very confusing concept to my daughter. Instead of concentrating on the rest of the story, she was more consumed with the monster, what he was going to do to the little girl and where he was hiding after. Before reading this book, my daughter had no recollection of what happened to her when she had her seizures and only remembers after the ambulance ride. Now, this space in her head has been filled with fears that her seizures have something to do with monsters. I struggled to console her and am so depressed that I may have done more harm than good by reading this story to her.I do commend the author for trying to write a book that children and families in this situation can relate to. The book is nicely illustrated. The parts about the EEG, MRI, doctor's visits and medication are explained well and there is happy ending. I have been purchasing products almost weekly from amazon for the past decade, and this is the first time that I have ever taken the time to write a review. I do understand that this book is about one little girl's experience, and everyone's experience is unique, but I just want to caution parents of very young children, who may still be very concrete thinkers, about this part of the book.

My daughter (8yo) is an epileptic with recent breakthrough seizures both partial and TC. This book related the events in terms she can understand and gave her words for her feelings. The book has enabled the team to assist her with the medication, balancing epilepsy with school and to realize she is not alone. I have recommended this book to others who have found the same benefit. This is her fourth "seizure" book with each book explaining more to her and being age appropriate.

This has really helped me and my daughter (age 2) talk about what is going on with her.. She still doesn't totally get it but it helps her, I think, feel like she someone else has been through all ye testing and uncertainty and has come out on the other side. Need more books like this to express this experience, especially as there are so many different ways epilepsy can manifest itself...

I really like this book. It is so hard to reassure a child with seizures. My 8 year old grandson enjoyed the story. His only wish was that the character had been a boy.

Great to read. Even as a Mom it helped our family create a great conversation about how our son feels and how someone else went through it. I think it helped him be able to verbalize a little more and feel good knowing he is not alone.

I purchased this book for a friend and she said it was very helpful for her child so he didn't feel alone. He found comfort knowing he wasn't the only child with epilepsy. Written in words for children to understand.

This is a well written and informative book, but it has one major flaw, which is a significant lack of detail. It is nice if you want multiple reference books, and it is also fairly small so you can bring it along on your trip on the plane. However, I HIGHLY recommend "The San Juan Islands", (New, Revised Second Edition), by Anne & Laurence Yeadon-Jones (part of the "Dreamspeaker" Cruising Guide series). This guide has all the details you need, along with many very detailed drawings of harbors and anchorages drawn by Laurence himself (I think). It provides clear warnings and recommendations on the safest way to approach harbors that are a bit tricky. The approaches to Roche Harbor are a good example, and Lopez Village is another. The photos I provided are of Friday Harbor (taken from shore very close to the Whale Museum, which I recommend!!), along with a shot of the Catalina 42 MKII that we chartered in a rather tight docking situation which we fortunately negotiated without incident (on our first bareboat charter!). Following other recommendations I have read on Amazon, I agree that purchasing an up to date Waggoners Guide for the Puget Sound region is essential. It has VERY accurate maps of all harbors and marinas, which is very useful in planning your approach if you are docking (sometimes the Marinas are very busy and you may not get immediate response on the VHF radio when you are asking which side to tie your fenders on, etc.). The only minor negative of "The San Juan Islands" is that some of the harbor/marina map drawings are out of date, Rosario Resort being the main example I encountered. This is not a big deal but it does matter for a newby Bareboat captain. By the way, for a newby, I recommend tying to a mooring buoy at Rosario, as long as you have a dinghy. Rosario is great and I recommend it highly, but due to fairly consistent southerly breezes coming up the East Sound, docking a sailboat can be challenging. Last but not least, unfortunately the Dreamspeaker guide book series is not easy to buy on Amazon at a reasonable price, but, all is not lost, they are available from the same outlet that sells the Waggoners guides online (just do a quick google search and you will find it). Have fun and happy Cruising in the San Juan Islands, it is worth it !!!

The book was written by someone with much experience to lend to us newbies. I am sure we will have questions and will have to find answers on our own, but it is a very good place to start. I wish that I could print out a page or two to add to our agenda file of places to visit. I guess I will have to get out my pen and paper.

Super impressed, PERFECT guide for the San Juans for sailing or power. We used this guide extensively from pre-trip research to the time we left for home. The only thing I would disagree with the book on was the comment on "reasonable" prices within the islands. 2X I don't consider reasonable, bring all the groceries you need.

The format is nice and it's not just an episode guide so it doesn't bore.

Everyone, not only parents, need to know the downside of vaccines. Especially the huge number now given to children by the time they start school. I am happy I grew up when we got the childhood diseases and have permanent immunity as a result.

I purchased this book while I was writing a research paper on childhood vaccines. This book was very informative and easy to understand. Sometimes books like these can be full of hard to understand medical terminology, but I found it very easy to follow along. I learned a lot from it for my paper and would recommend it to anyone who has questions regarding vaccinations for their children.

Such a great book. Awesome to refer back to time and time again.
