UPDATE: The company promptly and courteously responded to my inquiries. Turns out the kit I received was missing an Access Card (there are two) that included the instructions for accessing the downloadable audio content. I was provided with the needed instructions and a new access code. I'm about 1/4 way through the audio content and I am extremely please with how the information is presented. I've only glanced through the book to the references identified in the audio instruction. What I've seen looks good and if the remainder of the book, the flashcard app, and the QR guide are anything like the audio, then I expect I will be quite pleased. If that is not the case for any reason, then I may be back to again edit this review.Instructions to access the advertised downloadable content are anything but obvious. Once I did find what appears to be the correct site, the access code provided in the kit did not work. I have communicated this to Velociteach and may update this review based on their response.

After deciding to get my PMP certification, I spent time reviewing the Certification process and coming-up with an attack plan. I gave myself a year from start-to-finish (from filling out the application to passing the test). I started in August of 2011.The process to get to the point of scheduling my exam took more energy than I had thought it would. Documenting my Projects, completing the Application, taking/documenting my Professional hours and becoming a local chapter PMP member seemed a bit grueling---but that is what was needed, so I did it. At the end of December of 2011, my PMP Application was formally accepted and I was now in a position to schedule my Test. Phew! I had until December of 2012 to pass the Test (within 3 try's).I gave myself 8 weeks to study for the PMP---and scheduled the test for April 2012---which would give me some breathing room around the Holidays. But then work/life got in the way and it was March before I knew it and I had yet to open a book! I rescheduled for June---and then rescheduled for August. I remade the committement to finishing (I only had until December to pass) and blocked off July and August as Study months. But what/how to Study? Before scheduling my Test (the first time), I read lots of reviews/searched many sites and finally settled on Rita Mulcahy's Prep Book/FastTrack Testbank. My plan was to complete Rita's book, read the PMBOK and then take 3 simulated Tests (Full, 4 hour long, 200 questions) using the FastTrack Software. I decided that I was going to spend at least 1-2 hours a night and every weekend studying. Additionally, if it was harder than I anticipated, I would take off Mondays over the 2 months and use those as extra study days. What actually happened was that it was harder than I thought it was going to be to study, grasp and memorize all of the information. (Which surprised me because I have a graduate degree and have been a Project Manager on multi-million dollar Projects for a fortune 500 company for 5 years. Go figure!) After the first week I kicked-in my backup Monday's and truly cleared my calendar for the full 2 months as much as possible---declining social events was a pain, but getting time from work was difficult with my current Project, but I had too or I knew I wouldn't pass.2 weeks into my Studying of Rita's book, I knew I had to do something different---the book format and amount of information was overwhelming me. I went back to the web for more research to find another Approach and/or Study Materials. My first thought was to just bite-the-bullet and take a Prep Course (my company paid for all of my cost up to this point, but I knew they wouldn't pay for a Prep Course.) I found several 3-5 day, Instructor lead Prep Courses offered within 4 hours of me. I debated taking a weeks vacation and immersing myself in the material for a week. A quick calculation put the cost at about $2,500 when I factored in course & hotel---commuting wasn't an option because the courses were from 8am to 6 pm with some forms of homework. Setting aside the cost (which is no small amount) I had family and work committements that would suffer (and mentally distract me) if I went this route. I decided this wasn't the plan for me. I would choose a self-study course and if I didn't pass the first time I would re-evaluate a formal Prep course. After ruling out the formal prep course (at least for the first round of Testing), I focused on finding other study materials that might work better for me. (I was still at somewhat of a loss because I am typically a self guided, book/manual focused learner.) I decided I would get the 2nd option from my previous materials review--Andy Crowe's PMP Package (Book, Flash Cards, CD's and some Web Based Study Materials). I'm was well into week 3 when the study materials arrived. I opened the book and---Deja Vu. A bit easier for me to read/understand compared to Rita's but maybe it was just because I had already studied that material in Rita's book? Now what? I looked over the other material in Crowe's Package and found a 6 month on-line Access Key to their web site "Intuit"---can't hurt to try it...And there was the answer for me! On Andy Crowe's web site ("Intuit") there was an entire Self Guided, Video based presentation that mirrored/supplemented his book AND offered an on-line Test Bank. The entire presentation was long---50+ hours, I think, but it covered every facet of the PMBOK and was broken into manageable sections. Additionally, the material was presented in a very interesting/engaging format (well, as interesting as this material can be). I completed each section, read the book and then took the 20 question test from the book for each chapter. I was starting to feel like I could really do this!By the end of week 5 I had completed the on-line course and had read Crowe's book. I had also listened to the CD's---not very deep, but good context setting. I tried the flash cards but not much value to me.At this point, I had 3 weeks until my Test. I decided I was going to take three, 200 question/4 hour practice tests from the Intuit site----one every Monday. I would take the test (using the full 4 hours) and then review each answer---which was a great feature of the test bank in that it explained the right answer/told you why the other answers weren't correct. Unfortunately, to review all the questions/answers took my another 2-3 hours. A full day committement. Two weeks later, I had scored a 75% and then an 82%. Sweet! I'm feeling really good (dare I jinx myself and say Prepared?)On my last 'Study Monday', I decided to use Rita's FastTrack test bank---still taking the full test/studying the answers. Ugh: a 65% on the test! What the %^%}?!? The questions seemed a lot harder than Crowe's. Time to Panic! My test was Friday of that week (yesterday actually). I was worried that I didn't have much buffer between passing (61%) and my Studying. Now what? I decided to take off an extra day from work and take one last test from Rita's FastTrack, review the answers and then close the books. On Thursday I got a 74%. Closer. More buffer, but still not a lot of 'wiggle room'---especially If I'm stressed or the real test is harder....at this point, time was up and after a good nights sleep (sleeping pills did the trick!), I was off to my 9:00am PMP exam. (After doing a 'dry run' to find the location earlier in the week.)I arrived an hour early (just in case!), and did a last minute review of the 42 processes and the dozen formulas. After checking in (I was assigned a locker/given a key, ID checked, an inspection of my pockets and a quick metal detector sweep), I sat in front of a monitor that had my Name/Test ready for me (my test site apparently offers all kinds of other test---there were two people taking CPA exams and someone taking an electrical test that I spoke too.) I started the tutorial and quickly made my way through it because I had read that I could use the 'extra' time to write down the information I wanted to make sure I didn't forget (or misremember) during the stress of testing. I'm glad I did! I was more nervous than I thought I would be and I had a hard time jotting it all down. [The tutorial was 15 minutes---it took my 5 minutes to get through it and then I took 10 minutes to write down the 42 processes (in Knowledge/Process grid) as well as all of the EV formulas.]The test was hard, no doubt about it: But I passed! Let me say that again: I'm officially a PMP!As for the Test: The first 3 questions I didn't know the answer---but I at least I knew the concepts. I forced myself to mark an answer and move on. The level of questions were more similar to Rita than Crowe's. Drat. That meant I had 'less buffer' if I believed my Prep test results. I focused on my Test Taking Strategy (answer every question, complete all questions in 3 hours--or less, take a 10 minute break and then review as many questions as possible). During my Prep Tests, I had run into the situation several times where I was feeling good about the testing but then I would come across a whole group of questions that I was unsure of the answers. As I chugged through the test I was feeling good---at least about getting enough questions right that I was passing, but I kept waiting for that group of question that would throw me off. I'm happy to say, I didn't run across that group during the test! In retrospect, there were about 5 questions where I didn't know the concepts---let alone the answer. I made educated guesses on those questions. The rest of the questions were very reflective of the testing questions from both Rita & Crowe---but I give Rita more credit on accuracy of Test questions. It took me longer to get through the actual test than it had during my Prep test. I could make it through all 200 questions in about 2 hours during my prior testing---it took a full three hours on the actual test.Bottom line: I spent a lot more time persuing my PMP than I first estimated I would need---in both completing the Application and Studying for the Exam. As for Study Materials: (1) Studying on Crowe's web site tutorial is my number one recommendation---again, for my learning style (2) Both books (Rita & Crowe's) were about equal for what they offered me in way of breaking down the PMBOK (3) Rita's FastTrack Test bank was more indicative of the level/style of questions. ***Good Luck***

I have received the books back on few weeks ago. I have studied the PMBOK since 4 years ago on 5th editions and bought this books for hope that it would clear my view for 6th Edition of PMBOK. After few weeks, my review chapter coming to Schedule Management with a tons of calculations. My focus on Critical Path Method (CPM) and I review it very careful so I'm able to calculate and shorting all of things form it. But I dissatisfied with the example that we have to focus hard to make a calculation. The example is blur and I have to open other channel to look at the complete formula. Please take an action on pages 199-205 and exercise pages 211-212. Please supply with the concrete formula and correction of calculation. Still long to go before I complete the books. Thanks.

I used this kit along with Rita's book and her practice tests and passed the PMP on July 16, 2012 with ease!First the one deceiving thing with this kit is the access to their online resources.. it is only access to a practice exam and the questions do not come close to the actual PMP exam questions.I have listed the items that come in the kit with my comments.Book- to the point, somewhat dry, read only after you read Rita's. This was also my choice to pick it up for a 2nd read with only 1 week left before the exam and it really helped to hammer home the processes and the inputs, tools and outputs that were key. I also found the section with EV and associated calculations to be much much much more logical than Rita's book. i made the mistake of picking this book up first and was falling asleep by chapter 4.. once you read rita's book (much easier to get through initially) you then need to pick this book up to fill in the blanks and provide greater clarity on the knowledge areas and the processes and especially the EV and other calculations.Flashcards- only opened 1 of the 2 packs and they were just quick review cards and I found little to no value.Quick Reference Guide- Possibly the biggest bang for the buck, with the exception of the book. I memorized this front to back and also took it with me and was the last thing I reviewed in the parking lot before the test.CD's- they were ok, but I would not purchase these as a standalone. i normally learn and retain knowledge more easily when i hear something and then read it and rehear it, but with this set it really got into the weeds and i felt the group spent too much time dumbing down the information. I actually never finished the set as I didnt see it as a good use of my time (and it tended to put me to sleep while I was driving...yikes)....for the entire kit I would steer away from this purchase and just use the book and the quick reference guide purchased seperately and combine them with RITA's book and her practice exams.

Natural Beekeeping: Organic Approaches to Modern Apiculture, 2nd Edition

Review

“Natural Beekeeping is a wonderful book, beautifully written and illustrated, about how one can have healthy hives of bees without using synthetic pesticides, antibiotics, or artificial diets.  Ross Conrad explains in fine detail that the key ingredients of organic beekeeping are disease-resistant stock, favorable apiary sites, and good colony management, plus a reverence and respect for the bees.”--Thomas D. Seeley, Cornell University, author of Honeybee Democracy and The Wisdom of the HiveLibrary Journal- "Originally published in 2007 as colony collapse disorder was making headlines across the world, this updated edition by veteran beekeeper Conrad (former president, Vermont Beekeepers Assn.) is a holistic reference guide to organic apiculture. While newer parasites like varroa mites are making chemical treatments a normal part of hive ownership, many people are still looking for ways to manage their hives organically in order to reduce the amount of chemicals that affect bees, other pollinators, and the environment in general. This new edition adds information about urban beekeeping, top-bar hives, and marketing for those interested in selling honey and other products from their beehives. A comprehensive glossary and resource list will assist novice and experienced apiarists searching for equipment, mite-resistant bee suppliers, and pesticide testing and reporting agencies. VERDICT Conrad’s personal experiences and easy tone and the wealth of information make this title perfect for beekeepers looking for more natural hive management options. Highly recommended for purchase wherever urban farming is taking root."

As a beekeeper that has only one year under my belt, I found this book had some interesting information. It is more philosophical that practical. That's fine if it is philosophy you are looking for. If you are looking for practical nuts and bolts information on how to raise bees organically, this is not the book for you.

This book had a lot of good information. But it's not an all-information source. Don't make it your only book. The book fails to describe in much detail the equipment or tools you will need. The author rambles on and on about the ethics of organic farming and bee-keeping and sarcastically in a round about way discusses why you should make the choices he has made, but that it's ultimately your choice, but, ya know, make the organic choice.I think most of us wouldn't be reading the book if we hadn't drawn many of those conclusions ourselves. Why not to use miticides, not to use HFCS, why to be gentle and slow with the bees and on and on. These are all very good topics and deserve a mention. They take up much more of the book than is needed and in the process the details you really need are lost. I was looking for MORE information on what I could feed (aside from the commercially available products) and how I could control pests organically. I distinctly remember very little information on screened bottom boards (again, lacking the details on equipment) and that being something I was desperate for information for.Aside from those set backs, it's a good book. You will take away some important information and that makes it worth reading. If you're in the fence about organic bee-keeping then read this book and others like it!

While the author seems to be a little 'preachy' at times about the "evils" of industrial beekeeping, he does provide an EXCELLENT resource for handling bees in a more natural and non-chemical way. He focuses on essential oils and 'soft' treatments. The best part of this book is that he explains WHY things work biologically.I would recommend that any new beekeeper first purchase the "dummies" book, read it, and then purchase this book as well. It fills in gaps that I didn't even know that I had in my knowledge base.

The bee population is on life support in the U.S. We are in danger of loosing as much as one third the food we depend on because of lack of pollinators. The large beekeepers spread disease when the hives are transported all over the country. Small, well trained beekeepers are needed. This book address many of the problems, but I do not believe there is any good solution to the many problems facing bees. Research needs to be done. Natural solutions need to be found before it is too late. We all need to work together to keep the population of bees alive until solutions are found. This is a good book and a good place to start the education needed to keep and protect bees.

The author undoubtedly knows his stuff about bees. He has tons of experience and is a good writer. I enjoyed the way he focuses on sustainability in beekeeping and is open to new ideas. I like the way he offers multiple points of view on how best to handle each kind of problem you may encounter, from insect pests, to neighbors who hate bees, etc.

Full of detailed information. Some I've seen before, but the good thing is much of the methods and techniques were explained with more specific details that made the difference in many new situations. Experience is the best teacher and Mr. Conrad provided his to help me and my bees continue to gain more over the long haul. Very helpful.

This is an interesting read, a bit on the dry side sometimes, but it is a book to teach. I would recommend knowing about bees a bit more than someone trying to learn about bees.

A great bee book!Ross helps the reader become secure in beekeeping the natural way.He especially goes into great detail about the pests that plague bees today and how he's successfully found ways to help the bees defend themselves against them.Highly recommend this book to beekeepers!

The Mystical City of God: A Popular Abridgement of the Divine History and Life of the Virgin Mother of God, by Mary of Agreda

From the Inside Flap

The Mystical City of God by Venerable Mother Mary of Jesus of Agreda (1602-1665) is a monumental four-volume, 2,676 page history of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as revealed by Our Lady to this 17th-century Spanish nun. Venerable Mary saw in ecstasy all the events recorded here. Later, Our Lady told her to write them down in a book the result is The Mystical City of God, acclaimed by Popes, cardinals and theologians, a book which has inspired the laity and the clergy for over 300 years and which has gone into sixty editions in various languages. More than just the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this book also contains information about the creation of the world, the meaning of the Apocalypse, Lucifer's rebellion, the location of Hell, the hidden life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, intimate details about our Lord's life, and many other enthralling topics. The translator, Father George J. Blatter, a Chicago priest, first read the book in German and was so impressed that he learned Spanish in order to make a proper translation into English. His first edition appeared in 1912, ten years after he had started work. The purpose of this popular abridgement is to bring to an even wider readership the sublime truths found in The Mystical City of God. "Just as I have told you that he who knows Me knows also my Father, so I now tell you that he who knows My Mother knows Me." --The Mystical City of God, Vol. III, p. 765

About the Author

Venerable Mother Mary of Jesus of Agreda, also known as the Blue Nun, was born in 1602 at Agreda, Spain. She possessed a considerable amount of divine knowledge even at a very young age, and consequently was confirmed at just four years old. When she was twenty-five, Mary was instituted as president of a Franciscan nunnery that her mother left behind after the older woman's death. She wrote fourteen books throughout her lifetime, among them the four-volume Mystical City of God, and also served as spiritual advisor to King Philip IV of Spain. It has also been said that her writings were inspirational for Mel Gibson as he produced his film The Passion of the Christ, released in 2004. Mother Mary of Jesus died in 1665 at the age of sixty-three, and was declared venerable by Pope Clement X less than ten years later.

I wish I was able to purchase this book for every one I know. I have read it 2 times and now have tested ablity to have it read to me from 1/2 the cost. I purchased the full Unabridged 4 book volume. This is a lot for me at the moment but I've promised myself the gift of taking the time to read it this year. I have given it to every Catholic Priest that has been a art of my life. I have even given as a gift to a Doctor I had to see quite often a few years ago. If there is any belief in you about the appearances of the Blessed Mother purchase this book. Your faith even if you are still on the border line will take a giant leap forward. GIVE YOURSELF THIS GIVE.

I'm been fascinated with the stories of "The Blue Lady" legends of the Southwestern United States for years. And although I had read about the Nun,who the legends talk about, I found myself skeptical about a book authored by her. That being said, I ordered this book and with my finest critical glasses on, started reading the book. What an awesome delight I found it to be. Not written like many writers of here time, her words flow smoothly and her subjects are most devote and life changing, when applied on one's own way of living! Definitely a five stars from this reader!

I have always had a natural devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and have made the St. Louis de Montfort consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. However, I much shamefully admit that prior to reading The Mystical City of God, I new very little about Our Lady. This book has literally changed my life. Each chapter is jaw dropping as it fills in all the details of Mary's early life.

This is a very deep tome on the Life of Mary, the mother of God. Took me a long, slow time to get through it. But well-worth it. I now have a whole new perspective on Mary the virgin Mother! This was the "abridged" version--can't imagine getting through the Unabridged version!!!

This is not for anyone who is anti-Catholic because it is something that can be accepted only based on faith. Faith that God allows certain of His servants to receive visions, locutions, etc., and that they can be passed along to the faithful. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, there is no new revelation since the Canon of scripture was decided. These private revelations are special graces given to the recipient and so long as they do not go against the Faith, the local bishop can deem them acceptable for the faithful to read and to accept or reject as they choose.I believe that they are actual factual events and am grateful to God for giving such graces to His faithful. I especially enjoyed learning, through Mary of Agreda, about the life of Mary that is not recorded in the Gospels or other New Testament books. Another favorite of mine is The Dolorous Passion Of Jesus Christ" by Anne Catherine Emmerich. We used it in conjunction with a Lenten study on the Passion of Christ this past spring and it greatly enhanced our understanding of all the suffering endured by Jesus and his mother Mary.

I am quoting from someone famous: “The more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know anything.” While the Bible has almost next to nothing about Mary, Venerable Mary of Jesus of Agreda knew almost everything about Her. This nun had the power of bilocation and is attributed to converting Native Americans in Arizona and New Mexico while remaining physically in Spain. I had no idea of this nun until after I read the book. All I can say is my faith makes sense in relation to what Mary’s role was and is. If the topic of Mary turns you off, this book will not. I won’t say anymore on this book with the hopes that everyone will read it. Everyone needs to read it.

If you thought you knew your Christian faith, this book is the "outline" of the full 4 Volume set which explains the meaning and continuity between the Old and New Testaments. This is what Judeo-Christianity means in its true depth. Get an older dictionary, you're going to need it. Written in formal English as translated from the original Spanish text, it explains the lives of the Virgin Mary, her Son, Jesus Christ, St. Joseph, the nature of the battle between the influences of the Righteous Angels of God and the Demonic angels of Satan here on earth, the weaknesses of human nature and why the Disciplines and Sacraments of Judeo-Chrisianity (Roman Catholicism) are necessary to successfully defeat Evil in this world. This book clarifies and is the Doctrine of Roman Catholicism. It is excellent. This version is condensed from the unabridged version which is 4 full Volumes and also corresponds exactly with the verses of the Bible. It contains Imprimaturs.

This is the abridged version but still hefty reading. 700+ pages in a small paperback. Sometimes goes a bit over my head but is helping me understand the life of our Blessed Mother Mary in a much deeper and more humanistic manner. If you are searching to strengthen your relationship with Mary, this is it. Venerable Fr. Solanus Casey highly recommended this book and now I see why.

This was a Christmas gift for my adventurous, fearless, redheaded granddaughter. She loves it!

We have "The Adventurous Girl's Handbook". While it's awfully tame (boring) compared to "The Dangerous Book For Boys", it's a good book for the girls that want to have their own 'Dangerous' book. It doesn't have the spooky stuff of the Daring Girls book. My 9 yr old likes it a lot and if she wants to she can beg to borrow her brother's book for the truly adventurous stuff.

The book is decent, but the author demonstrates a certain naivety in many of the suggestions he makes, indicating that they're backed by significant research that just hasn't determined cause and effect.Notably, he states that all of the "other" diets out there (note that he implies this book is not a diet, but it is - any method of eating is a diet) ultimately work by creating a calorie deficit as if to imply that by following this book, you can lose weight without a deficit - but thermodynamics would disagree. Do certain foods provide equivalent satiety to other foods but for lower calories? Yes, there's research behind that. But the author repeatedly states that cutting calories and creating a deficit isn't the right way to lose weight as it can hurt performance, and yet the *only* way to lose weight is via a calorie deficit. There is literally no other way. There are additional points of information that are only correlation (e.g. those who eat breakfast are leaner than those who don't - and those people also exercise more, smoke less, and a host of other factors that make them healthier) and further statements that are generally debunked, particularly nutrient timing around whether it's best to eat carbs, proteins, or fats at different times of day (he says carbs in the morning, protein at night, but there aren't studies that he references or that I've found that actually prove causation here). Note that I'm not talking about post-workout nutrition which has been studied extensively and for which there is support for carb and protein consumption immediately post workout to maximize both glycogenesis and protein synthesis. The author also states that if you eat carbs late at night, they are "more likely to turn to fat" which has been proven patently false over and over again (I'm tired of reading and hearing this). De novo lipogenesis (the conversion of carbohydrate to triglycerides) is jokingly low (a few grams a day) except in cases of extreme carbohydrate overfeeding. Carbohydrate is burned in preference to fats when present which thus, in a caloric surplus, will cause overall adiposity to increase, but carbs themselves are very rarely converted to fat in any significant quantity. But overall, the book has decent suggestions and if you're going from a standard, untracked diet to a measured one, this'll help you, but let's call it was it is - a diet. The author would benefit from being more truthful to the science instead of pretending that there is a magical way to lose weight without going into a calorie deficit. Even despite many of the pros stating that they go to sometimes drastic measures to manage weight, he acts as though this diet makes it simple and easy. Peak performance is not natural, the body cares about survival, not a few seconds off your 5k. Elite performance will require sacrifice.

I want to preface my review by stating that I have extensive background in exercise science, nutrition and human performance. There is very little from a nutrition or performance standpoint that I am not already familiar with as I keep up with most peer reviewed academic journals. Having said that, I learned a great deal from Mr Fitzgerald's book. Perhaps more importantly, I was able to put this knowledge into practice. I cannot say enough good things about the brilliance that is this book. If you are serious about honing your performance, you should buy this book.About me: I am a serious runner in my mid 30's who averages about 100 miles per week. I mostly stick to 5k's and 10k's, but did my first marathon last year and came in at 2:59. I was a state runner at high school, but never quite fast enough to make the college grade. My 800m repeats are fast as are my miles, but I knew that in order to make serious PR gains I needed to drop weight in a healthy way. This book has been by blueprint for getting there. The book has proved to be so comprehensive, well-researched and insightful. It's principles are beautifully and artfully laid out. For the past 4 months I've been following closely the dietary quality score approach and managing my hunger and I've gone from 165 lbs to 155 (I hit my goal weight a few days ago!) The last 5 lbs were stubbornly difficult to shed, but I got there. This spring I'm going to see how my new racing weight will allow me perform at my 2nd marathon. Stay tuned! The Dietary Quality Score is such a holistic, refreshing approach to eating. I found it so outstanding that I created a family DQS chart for our little boy with magnets on the refrigerator. We challenge him to get as high of a score as possible every day. Thanks Mr Fitzgerald for your comprehensive work!

Age group competitive marathoner here. The book is meant as a complement to calorie tracking, with tips on what healthy foods to eat and some pointers to how many carbs are needed in an athlete's diet which is helpful. It's more of a Daniel's formula (building blocks) than Pfitzinger approach (ready to use plans), to put it in runner's terms. It's useful for people who haven't been paying attention to their eating habits and nutrition, probably even eye-opening to the "if the furnace is hot enough..." people, but not a lot of new things to learn for those who are not new to healthy eating. The DQS App and methodology don't add much, you could go on a "nuts and wine" diet and congratulate yourself with great daily DQS scores.

Another solid endurance sport nutritional book from Matt Fitzgerald, this one focusing on weight control. It can be a challenge to balance the energy needs and hunger management associated with endurance training with the weight control many of us desire for better performance. This book has plenty of useful strategies, grounded in nutritional science. Difference lifestyles and performance levels are considered. I do wish he was a little bit clearer on how weight loss actually occurs (you need a calorie deficit and the book seems to sometimes dance around that). Overall, recommended for anyone with an interest in the subject.
